Faculty Co-ordinators- Asst. Prof. Neeta Ahir, Asst. Prof. Shweta Pawar

“Mentors provide professional networks, outlets for frustration, college & career counselling, general life advice, an extra voice telling a student they are smart and capable enough to cross the stage at graduation and land their first paycheque from a career pathway job.”

Gerald Chertavian

With this note, our college started mentorship programme since 2012. To inculcate study habits and to create studious ambience in our college we encourage harmony between junior and senior students. On this ground, we have decided a few objectives of this programme

  • To provide academic & co-curricular support to juniors.
  • To build healthy relation among all the students.
  • Briefing college activities to the fresh students and encouraging them to participate.
  • To help them for the examination preparation.
  • To guide them for accommodation, conveyance, food etc.
  • To counsel them about the career, internships & seminars.
  • To share the field experiences along with probable impediments.
  • To create awareness and keen interest in moot court competitions, NSS activities & research projects.

We received great response from the 1st BALLB students for this programme. Orientation programme was organised for them by the mentors, in which they briefed all the new students about college activities. Mentors conducted informal meetings twice a month and had individual interactions with their mentees. Mentors clarified many doubts relating to exams, internship opportunities, moot court, sports, research projects etc. Mentors offered helping hand to boost confidence among the students to face variety of challenges. We also organized a lecture for 1st BALLB students on the topic ‘Career Opportunities in Law’ by Dr. Rohini Honap, Principal DES SNFLC. It proved to be motivating and beneficial for the students to plan their career accordingly. A guest lecture by Adv. Anurag Mishra, who is also an alumni of our college, was organized on the topic ‘Research in Law and mooting skills’ on March 13, 2018.

The mentorship programme proved to be a great success. We look forward to continue it with more vigour and enthusiastic participation by the students.
