The student volunteers in the legal aid department responded enthusiastically to the work, and the department ran with a zeal of hard work. The year began with an introduction to the legal aid department's operations as a centre that provides free legal aid to the general public.

This year, we have students actively participating in a number of activities like interactions, counselling, Surveys,Lok-Adalat.

1. One-Day Free Legal Aid Camp Was Held In Uruli Kanchan Village:- on August 29, 2024 with the goal of raising awareness and offering legal aid to the local population. Sarpanch Amit Baba Kanchan, former Up-sarpanch Snachita Kanchan, Vice Chairman Adv. Ashok Palande, Principal Dr. Sunita Adhav, and other esteemed gram panchayat members graced the occasion. Numerous legal subjects were discussed, such as property rights, children's rights, domestic violence, agricultural laws, and the function of the district legal service authority The camp featured interactive sessions and a play on domestic violence to raise awareness about this pressing issue. The camp was particularly effective in raising awareness about domestic violence through the play highlighting the devastating impact of this crime on individuals and families. It also encouraged victims to seek help and report abuse to the authorities. Many villagers attended the camp, seeking help regarding various legal matters. Some were facing disputes over land ownership or inheritance, while others were concerned about the rights of their children. The students provided valuable advice and information, helping the villagers to understand their legal rights & possible remedies to their problems.
2. Speed Mentoring Session at B.B ALIAS SAHEB JEDHE ARTS,COMMERCE & SCIENCE COLLEGE in Pune, on 2^nd September 2024.:-  POSH and Topics included digital privacy, cyber bullying, safe internet practices, recognizing and addressing harassment, and the legal recourse available. Legal rights in the workplace and cyber laws were emphasized, alongside social implications of harassment and the importance of maintaining safe online habits. An awareness program to educate students, faculty, and staff about the same was organised . The program aimed to create a safe and inclusive environment by fostering awareness about workplace and campus safety, individual rights, and mechanisms for addressing grievances related to sexual harassment, cyber bully, and legal recourse available It served as a stepping stone toward fostering a safer and more respectful campus environment.
3. विधिTatva" Podcast Series :- This year, on September 28, 2024, the college legal aid cell hosted "विधिtatva" podcast series "Open Door, Open Law: Your Guide to Free Legal Aid" is an episode that offers information on how to get legal aid. in order to raise awareness of different perspectives on how to provide free legal aid and of different authorities, Legal Luminaries, experts, guides, lawyers and authorities; District Legal Service Authority Pune, featuring  insights into accessing legal assistance Legal Luminaries And Experts Like  Sonal Patil, Member Secretary of DLSA Pune spoke about Legal Aid at District Level . Mr. Rajendra Pawar, Chief Engineer of MSEDCL, Pune Zone spoke  about State of Electricity Act Cases in Lok Adalat  Mr. Sanjeev Rathod, Executive Engineer of MSEDCL, Shivajinagar Division about High Electricity Bill than Actual Consumption Adv. Atul Gunjal  spoke about State of Motor Accidental Cases in Lok Adalat;  Mr. Gajanan R Dornapalle, 13th Joint Civil Judge J.D. & JMFC Pune  spoke about  State of Cheque Bounce Cases in Lok Adalat ;  Adv. Rishabh Gandhi  spoke about Legal Myths and Reality; Adv. Pushkar Patil  spoke about Introduction to Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita: Challenges Faced by Young Lawyers  Mr. Yash Chavan, Law Clerk at Supreme Court  spoke about the Legal Aid at Supreme Court Level. Thus various session for educating masses was organised and posted on social media for better conceptualization and insights into accessing legal assistance.

4. Interactive Workshop on the Rights of Disabled People and Stress Management on 19^th October 2024 was organised at The Society For The Welfare Of The Differently Abled Person, Wanawdi, Pune.  The students were made aware as to rights of disabled individuals, coping mechanisms for stress, and stories of inspirational disabled individuals who have made significant achievements, session highlighted laws protecting the rights of the disabled and strategies for handling daily challenges, fostering resilience and self-worth and various government schemes for skill development.
5. Third Prof. V.S. Mallar Memorial Legal Aid Competition –Participation, the 3rd Edition of the Prof. V.S. Mallar Memorial Legal Aid Competition, 2024 jointly organised by Symbiosis Law School, Pune (SLS-P), Centre for Environmental Law, Education, Research and Advocacy (CEERA) and the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru under the aegis of Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, from July 31^st 2024 till November 26^th During this time, students engaged in a variety of activities, assisting in Lok Adalat, speed mentoring to school students, and partnering with non-profit organizations to educate children about legal literacy and cyber safety, reel making , litigation lab assistance and like wise  The college was recognized for its efforts in this program. The students work hard on a variety of projects to raise legal knowledge among the younger generation and general public.
6. STREET PLAY on "Menstruation: Bust Myths, Add Health" at M.E.S. Sou. Vimlabai Garware High School on 4^th October 2024. This initiative was part of the college's ongoing commitment of using legal knowledge for social awareness and to address critical social and health issues, particularly among adolescents. The play aimed to educate young girls about menstruation, dispel harmful myths, and promote menstrual health and hygiene practices.
7. JAN SUNWAII :- an open forum on 4 October 2024  was organised where local residents of wadarwadi, Shivajinagar  Pune -4  with the vision as a platform for community members to share their legal issues and challenges face and legal aid qas well as free services provided by the college.  Also the session featured about  how to file a police report, access free legal assistance, obtain an FSSAI license, and understand voter awareness, voter ID generation, and the registration process for issues on the Jan Sunwaii portal.
8. Prison Visit on 24^th February 2025 in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Pune:- an educational and legal awareness visit to Yerawada Central Jail on 24th February 2025. The visit aimed to enhance our understanding of the prison system, the rights of prisoners, and the legal aid mechanisms available to them. The experience provided invaluable insights into the functioning of the prison and the rehabilitation programs for inmates. Legal Awareness Sessions were conducted on Rights of Prisoners, Bail Process, Legal Aid Services for Prisoners, Rehabilitation Schemes for Prisoners. Total 30 volunteers participated in the programme with faculty members.
9. The Reel Making Program :- We at SNFLC, Pune made eight reel videos. These videos can raise awareness about rights, procedures and services available to underserved communities, empowering individuals with the knowledge they need to navigate legal challenges. By leveraging social media platforms and tools like reels, legal professionals and organisations can bridge the gap between legal complexities and the general public, fostering greater understanding and access to justice.
10. LITIGATION ASSISTANCE LAB :- The Litigation Assistance Lab was an initiative aimed at immersing students in hands-on litigation support for real legal cases, beyond traditional research tasks. This program empowered teams to work directly with advocates’ offices, engaging with practical legal aid matters to gain crucial experience in client counseling, drafting, and procedural work in active cases. The lab focuses on enhancing practical litigation skills while addressing the pressing legal needs of individuals. To facilitate collaboration, our team of students at DES SNFLC proactively reached out to advocates' offices, explaining the purpose of the Litigation Assistance Lab and its focus on practical legal aid support rather than a traditional internship setup. The lab thus enabled students to collaborate with multiple advocates, assisting in diverse cases that required direct intervention and support. Our team of Mansi Kapre and Akash Alkunte, engaged in a range of legal support activities under the guidance Adv. Vijendra Badekar, Adv. Bipin Patole,and associates . They assisted the advocates and the clients.

Conclusion :- In conclusion, legal aid plays a vital role in ensuring access to justice for all, particularly for marginalized and economically disadvantaged communities and student volunteers played an important role the effectiveness of legal aid, working and its guidance for the common class through means of various activities undertaken. ONE DAY FREE LEGAL AID CAMP, URULI KANCHAN

Overall, the free legal aid camp was fruitful & sown seeds for further interactions. It provided a valuable service to the villagers of Uruli Kanchan and helped to raise awareness about important legal issues. DES SNFLC legal aid clinic hopes to continue organizing similar events in the future to ensure that the community has access to legal assistance.
